The Mission

The mission of the Cal Poly Pomona Music Department is to encourage all students to realize their highest artistic, musical, academic and professional potential. We provide courses in support of teacher education and General Education courses for the university population.

The Department promotes music in a person's life as rewarding, fulfilling and necessary. We embrace our responsibility to fairly present and represent the complex tapestry of musical life. The department aims to present a balanced view of the musical contributions of both genders and the various nationalities and ethnicities of the state's population.
